Well, last night’s quilt block escapade went MUCH better than I had anticipated! I had the whole house to myself when I got home from work which doesn’t happen often. Thanks Daughter for taking the kiddos to a yummy hot dog supper somewhere
. So, I jumped on the chance to get to sew while I was all alone.
Here are the results: 6 finished quilt squares from a 9 patch variation pattern. The 3 I did last night seemed to sew themselves together! It went so well. This pattern started the evening as my least favorite and most unpleasant of all the blocks sewn and quickly moved up to now become my new favorite, right behind the log cabin
. That one is still my true favorite of the bunch. Whatever happened, the sewing angels were smiling on me last night and everything worked. I didn’t have to rip out a single seam! I think I had worked so hard on the other 3 of this pattern that I was able to do a better job on these last ones. Or I just had enough experience to make them turn out better. Not really sure, but I do know one thing….I REALLY like the color combination as I am working on all of these. I can’t wait to see my finished quilt!
So all the complaining of yesterday is turned into a big ‘Yay!’ for today! No grumping or fussing folks, just one happy sewing girl talking to you! Hope that lasts a while huh?
So a much despised quilt block pattern turns out much better and easier than planned, and this pleases me very muchly!
One of the nicest parts of all of this for me is that as I continue to sew and work on these quilt blocks, the thoughts of my fears and insecurities with sewing are quickly becoming a distant memory. I think I like that part best of all.
Hope you had a stupendous day! Mine certainly ended beautifully. Not only did the blocks come together well, but Boyfriend also brought me a beautiful basket of flowers with dinner. I had a wonderful evening after a long and trying day. But….. since I said no grumping or complaining this time, we won’t go into that.
So we’re all done now folks! Talk to you soon, Angela
