Are We At Halftime?

07 Feb

Surprisingly this ad from the Super Bowl is causing a good bit of debate. Many in the media have seen it as a political ploy, while lots of the American public call it, “Inspiring in a nonpartisan sort of way.” (source MSN poll). If you haven’t seen it, this is the ad the discussion is about:

Personally, I don’t see what all the discussion is about. It seems too low key to be drawing the kind of attention I have been reading about it in the news. I’m sure it’s meant to be inspiring, but I personally believe it will take a lot more than this to pump us up as a nation to be the come back kid that the commercial is portraying Detroit as. This is the first year since 1997 that Chrysler has seen a profit. Let’s face it, that’s a 15 year comeback. I don’t know about the rest of the nation, but I need solutions a lot faster than that for my finances and my family. I’m pretty sure the rest of you do too. I don’t think we’re at halftime, I think that the game ended with a lot of us left on the field. I’m ready to start a new one. See you at the ballpark? Later, Angela
